WAAY Filipino basketball youth league accepting registrations for the 2017/2018 season, register your children ages 5-15 (male and female) to play in our community Filipino basketball youth league.
This league runs from November - March.

Player registration is $170.00 for the season, this includes a uniform (customized top and bottom) to keep, practice once a week and trophy at the end of the season. An amazing opening and closing ceremony is also included.

Kidsport Manitoba applications will be available for those parents that meet the criteria, visit www.kidsportmanitoba.ca for further info.

We are in need of Basketball coaches this season, please indicate this on the registration sheet.

(Please register early as we may put a cap on the amount of teams in each division)

FRIENDLY REMINDERS

1. PLEASE REMEMBER TO THROW YOUR GARBAGE AWAY WHEN YOU LEAVE. BINS ARE LOCATED AT THE ENTRANCE OF BOTH GYMS.

2. THERE SHOULD BE NO BALL BOUNCING IN THE GYM WHILE A GAME IS IN PLAY. PLEASE REMIND THE KIDS TO HOLD ONTO THEIR BASKETBALLS.

3. ONLY COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES AND PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED ON THE BENCH.

4. REMEMBER TO BE A FAN! NOT A FANATIC!

PARKING

LEAGUE RULES

WAAY League Rules
All games will be played in two(2) twenty(20) minutes halves running time with a 3 minute half time.
Stop time is referees whistle during the last two (2) minutes of the last second half.
Game clock will stop in case of injury.
Players are substituted every 5 minutes. (5 in and 5 out).
Must have 5 players to start the game.
Five minutes grace period from the schedule game time. Team defaults after 5 minutes if the team does not have 5 players to start the game.
All parents should refrain from shouting at players on the court. Parents and/or fans not following this rule may be ejected from the premises.
Only players, coaches, assistant coaches are allowed on each bench. A maximum of three (3) coaches are allowed. One head coach and two assistant coaches.
Any concern from the parents regarding the game should be addressed to each respective coach and/or assistant coaches.
Only five (5) fouls are allowed on each player.
The WAAY committee members will try to set up an even team selection.
FIBA rules apply except for the game time and time outs.

TIME OUTS:
Each team is allowed one (1) time out in the first half and one (1) in the second half.
Unused time out in the first half cannot be carried over to the second half.
Only the coach can call a timeout from the scorers table on dead ball.

OVERTIME:
Regular season, no OT
Playoff Overtime:
Two(2) minute stop time with each team allowed one (1) time out. No carry over of timeout from regulation.
Second overtime will be one(1) minute stop time with NO TIMEOUT.
Third overtime is Sudden Death Round. No clock, no timeouts first basket wins.

BONUS RULE:
Two(2) free throws or bonus throw will be awarded starting on the 7th team foul per half.

TEAM STANDING:
In case of a tie, win over the other will prevail.
In case of a triple tie, the one with the highest points spread of the three teams will prevail.

Junior Tykes Division (Born 2009-2012):
Man-to man only at all the times. No double teaming. No full court pressure allowed.

Tykes Division (Born 2007-2008):
Man to man only with help defence, no zone defence allowed.
Double team on man with the ball past the free throw extension.
No triple teaming. Full court press in the last five minutes of the second half.
Cannot full court press if your team is winning by 10 points or more.

Peewee Division (Born 2005-2006):
Man to man only with help defence.
Teams can play zone defence in the last five minutes of the second half.
Double team on man with the ball past the free throw extension.
No triple teaming. Full court pressure is allowed in the last ten minutes of the second half.
Cannot full court press if your team is winning by 15 points or more.
Thirty second shot clock will apply in this division administered by the referees.

Junior Tykes, Tykes, and Peewee;
These divisions are for developmental.
Even playing time for all players.
All players in these three divisions will receive a trophy as a participant.
The Champions, 2nd place & 3rd place will be engraved on the trophies.

Bantam (Born 2003-2004) & Midget (Born 2002) Division:
This is a competitive division.
All defence is allowed.
Cannot full court press if your team is winning by 20 points or more.
Mandatory 5 on 5 off every five minutes until the last ten minutes of the second half (Last mandatory substitution in the last ten minutes).
Substitution is allowed any time in the last ten minutes of the second half.
Thirty second shot clock administered by the referees.
